The Simple System I Wish I Had When I Started My Online Business
How a daily, repeatable writing rhythm finally gave me focus, consistency, and results.
Over the years, I’ve tried almost everything to build an online business…
Client copywriting and SEO. Niche sites. eCommerce. Podcasting. Social media plays...
Some were successful - some not. But each one felt like the answer.
I’d buy the course, sign up for the tool, stay up late planning my escape from the 9–5.
But I never stuck with anything long enough to see results.
It wasn’t laziness—I was working hard. It was just the wrong kind of work.
I was chasing tactics, not building a system.
Eventually, I noticed something.
The creators I admired—those quietly building powerful personal brands and profitable content businesses—they weren’t chasing trends.
They were following the same simple rhythm:
Write helpful content
Show up consistently
Make a clear offer
That’s when I started stripping everything back.
No more 17-tab content plans. No more switching platforms every month.
I built a simple system that kept me focused, consistent, and productive.
💡 The Simple System That Changed Everything
Here’s exactly how I run my content business today—and what I wish I’d done from the start:
✅ 1. Daily Writing Reps (Weekdays)
Every weekday, I publish a short, story-driven article.
At the moment I’m using Medium - backup with LinkedIn, X and BlueSky - but the platforms change with trends and where my audience is.
It’s not about going viral—it’s about showing up.
Each post:
Tackles one pain point my audience struggles with
Starts with a quick personal insight or experience
Ends with practical tips or mindset shift
Finishes with: “Want the full breakdown? Join the newsletter.”
Think of it like a micro-blog with a mission.
This rhythm helps me build trust daily—and keeps my ideas flowing.
📬 2. Weekly Newsletter (Weekends)
Once a week, I go deeper.
My newsletter expands on a key theme from that week’s daily articles (the one with most engagement).
At the moment I’m on Substack as you can publish notes too - but again the exact newsletter platform could change as it’s the system and consistency that’s key.
I write this at the weekend but publish it during the week.
I share behind-the-scenes lessons, frameworks, and personal experience.
It’s where I can slow down, go long-form, and invite people into something bigger.
Each newsletter ends with a CTA—not to my product, but to my offer:
The transformation I help people achieve (like building a sustainable writing habit or turning content into income).
🎯 3. Offer > Product Flow
Here’s the mistake I used to make: pitching the product first.
Instead, now I lead with the offer—the result someone wants.
More consistency
A clear content plan
A daily habit they can actually maintain
Then I introduce the product that helps them get there.
For me, that’s:
The Writing Reps Framework™ → a practical, repeatable writing system
Inside The Content Champion Academy → my membership where creators get the tools, templates, and support to implement it
It’s a simple bridge: Pain ➝ Daily Tip ➝ Weekly Deep-Dive ➝ Offer ➝ Product
🧭 4. A System So Simple It Feels Wrong
My daily writing reps framework is so simple - it almost feels too easy.
But that’s to miss the point. Like lifting weights in the gym, it’s the consistent reps over time that get results.
This is just the same. It’s easy in principle but if you don’t turn up and take action you won’t make the gains.
It's about stripping away the noise—so you always know exactly what to do next.
Your week becomes clear:
What you're writing each weekday
What you’ll expand on in the weekend newsletter
What offer you're leading with
What product helps people take action
No stress. No chaos. Just focused, repeatable progress.
One step at a time. One piece of content at a time.
🏁 This Is What I Wish I’d Known
If I could go back 10 years, I wouldn’t change the projects I tried…
I’d change the system I used to approach them.
You don’t need 12 platforms or the latest funnel hack.
You need a simple, focused plan you can actually stick to.
One process. Daily reps. A rhythm you can build a business around.
